If you are accepting your conditional offer, you will also use this form to request your I-20. In addition to the form, all Academic Transitions students are required to pay a deposit of $500 USD in order to accept their offer.

Please note that you may still submit an acceptable score to Admissions up to the time you would start at the ELI to be considered for direct admission.

Once you begin at the ELI, Admissions will no longer accept a TOEFL or IELTS score as a substitute to completing the conditional admission requirements. The applicant is responsible for notifying their school with the new acceptable language score and you can also contact the university admissions office directly to see if they have a deadline.

This form is required of all foreign students who are transferring their visa to the University of Delaware's English Language Institute. Please ask a designated school official at your current school to complete this form and submit it with this form or send it as an email attachment to capadmissions@udel.edu.

Please note: If you are not a transferring student and plan to go back to your home country before attending the ELI, you will be required to obtain a new initial I-20.

AT Level (AT1, AT2) semesters begin in sessions 1, 3 and 5. Pre-AT level (level 1-6) sessions begin in sessions 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.

Please Note: Only students with advanced English skills are permitted to begin directly the in Academic Transitions program. Students may submit a TOEFL (with score of 65-89) or an IELTS (with a minimum score of 5.5) in order to place into AT. In addition, all students are required to take the ELI placement exam upon arrival to ensure that they are placed in the correct level/program.

Housing

All Pre-AT and AT students are required to live with Americans. Depending on their English level and the time of year in which they begin AT, students may live in one of the following options:

Residence halls (dormitories) on campus (when available)
Homestay (live with an American family)
Global Community at the Waverly

Passport - upload a copy of the full page that contains your biographic information including the machine readable section at the bottom.

Passport copy of each dependent. Please upload all passport copies as a single document.

Proof of financial resources - This can take the form of a bank statement or a bank letter, and it must show the following information:

The name of the account holder (either your name or the name of the person who will pay for the student’s studies) written in the English alphabet.
The issue date (the bank statement must be no more than 3 months old)
The statement or letter must be on official bank letterhead.
The amount of money in the account. It must show $55,904 USD (or the equivalent in your home country's currency). Government regulations require each student to show available funds for 8 months of study.
It must say the type of currency (USD or your home country's currency).
The bank statement must be written in English.

This is only necessary if someone else will pay for your studies.
If your family or a friend will pay for your studies, please ask them to create and sign a letter of sponsorship.
If your sponsor lives in the USA, the letter of sponsorship must be notarized.
