Who is a leaver?
A leaver is a student that is leaving the ELI and will not return.
A leaver is a student that will not take ELI classes for 6 months or more.
Who is a stayer?
A stayer is a student that is taking ELI classes next session.
A stayer is also a student who within the next session is traveling, taking vacation or leave of absence, and will take ELI classes again in less than 6 months.
Important
: If you have already submitted a Departure Form, then we cannot change your status back to "stayer". Submitting your Departure Form means that OISS has already adjusted your SEVIS record and this cannot be changed. Contact oiss@udel.edu for more information.
