ELI Orientation for Parents of New AT Students | Fall 2019

Please join us for the Fall 2019 ELI AT Parents' Orientation!

Welcome to the University of Delaware English Language Institute (ELI)! It is our pleasure to welcome you to the UD-ELI community.

You are invited to a special 2-day Parents' Orientation event for the parents of new students in the ELI's Academic Transitions (AT) program. 

General schedule

ELI AT Parents' Orientation activities will happen while your son or daughter is busy participating in our New Student Orientation activities. Here is a basic schedule of what will be happening on these days:
 

Date	Student Activities	Parent Activities
Wednesday, August 21st	Students will complete their ELI check-in and move into their housing. In the evening, UD will arrange bus trips to a store so that students can buy supplies (e.g., sheets, towels, toiletries, snacks, etc.)	Parents will do the same activities as their child on this day.
Thursday, August 22nd	Students will take their English placement test. | Learn more about our placement process ➤	Parents will participate in AT Parents' Orientation Day 1.
Friday, August 23rd	Students will participate in ELI orientation and take a campus tour.  Students will join their parents at the UD Coffee Hour welcome activity (4-6 p.m.).	Parents will participate in AT Parents' Orientation Day 2 (8 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.) Parents will then join the main UD campus-wide International Parents' Orientation & luncheon (11 a.m. - 3 p.m.). Parents will join their children at the UD Coffee Hour welcome activity (4-6 p.m.).

In addition, UD is offering an optional event on Saturday, August 24th: The Parent Send-Off.
