Blue Hen Ambassador (BHA) Application - Fall 2019

    Greetings, and thank you for your interest in the Blue Hen Ambassador (BHA) position.  We are seeking UD students who are enthusiastic, passionate, and well-rounded. As a BHA, you will have the opportunity to share your personal experiences, stories, and knowledge with prospective students, families, and other guests.  BHAs play an integral role in the visit experience within the Office of Admissions, and are a core part of the university's recruitment process. 

    BHAs are required to be in good academic standing, passionate about UD, and must exhibit strong interpersonal skills. This is an on-campus paid position, with a starting hourly rate of $9.25 per hour. BHAs are expected to give a minimum of two campus tours a week, which will include, but not limited to, prospective, group, and transfer student visits. BHAs are also expected to participate in special admissions events, such as: Blue and Golden Prospective Student Open Houses, Decision Days, Big Visit Days, and select Saturday visits in the fall semester. 

    We are seeking broad, diverse, and talented students, who shared experiences and abilities will attract and support students through the admissions process. 

    Required Qualifications and Expectations:
    • Conduct at least 2 campus tours per week
    • Must attend the bi-weekly BHA meetings
    • Required to work all major events, for example - weekend Open House Programs
      • Spring 2020 Required Open Houses:
        • February 29, 2020
        • March 21, 2020
        • April 18, 2020
        • April 25, 2020
    • Enthusiasm for the University of Delaware
    • Must be in good academic standing
    • Must be an active full-time student in the spring 2020 semester
    Students interested in becoming a Blue Hen Ambassador should be:
    • Passionate about the University of Delaware
    • Knowledgeable about the University of Delaware
    • Reliable
    • Strong communicators and should possess strong public speaking skills
    • Confident 
    • Comfortable working individually or in teams of 2 or more. 
    • Comfortable speaking to large groups
    • Friendly and able to work with diverse populations
    • Able to share great stories about the exceptional experiences you have as a UD student
