    Frequently asked questions:

When are UD Music Audition Days?
Undergraduate and Graduate music auditions will take place on Wednesday, January 29, Thursday, January 30, and Friday, January 31, 2020 at the Amy E. Du Pont Music Building, located at 100 Orchard Road, Newark, DE 19716.

Who needs to audition during UD Music Audition Days?
All prospective undergraduate music majors, including first-year applicants, transfer applicants, or students matriculating from the Associate in Arts program, must audition during UD Music Audition Days as part of their application to the University of Delaware. Current students who would like to change their major must audition in January 2020 and may contact the School of Music Academic Advisor, Ellie Wydra to discuss your options, or set up an appointment.

When is the deadline to complete the audition request?
All music major applicants are expected to submit an audition request no later than January 15. You can submit the request even if you are still working on your application. In fact, you will have a greater selection of available times the earlier you submit the request.

I don’t want to major in music, but I would like to continuing playing music as a UD student.
Non-music majors interested in taking private lessons through the applied music minor, jazz studies minor, merit private study, or Honors private study programs may audition the weekend before classes begin each fall and spring semester. Participation in music ensembles is open to all students regardless of major. Enrolled students can audition at the start of each semester. You will find a list of student ensembles here.

Where can I find graduate applicant information?
